Are
residents of manufactured housing increasing their use of personal computers
and the Internet? Do they shop online? Are they big e-mailers? Have a
look at the information below and you'll see that owners of manufactured
homes are energetically participating in the technology boom.
For the first time in our surveys, more than half of
respondents report owning a personal computer in their home. There is
a huge jump to 56%, up from 40% in 1999.
There is also a major increase in people having actually
purchased something over the Internet. That number was only 18% in 1999
- it's up to 40% in 2002.
The largest use of the Internet is for e-mail, although
gathering information and research is a close second.
Satellite television service is up to 28%, but
cable television is still more popular.
