For the first time Foremost is taking agent education online!
Foremost Education OnLine, or EOL, launches March 17, 2006! EOL allows you to take courses for CE credit, for your own self-study and makes it possible to sign up for classroom seminars — all online! Check out the Q&A below for answers to you EOL questions, and visit the site today to set up a profile and begin your online insurance education!
Q: How do I get to the Foremost Education OnLine Web site?
A: There are links to EOL on ForemostSTAR and the Specialty section of the Agency Dashboard. The site address is www.foremosteducation.com.
Q: What is the value of EOL?
A: Your education has just gone online! The most important value to you is convenience. You'll be able to take courses that you need for CE credit, or have an interest in taking without CE credit, online and at your own pace. You'll also be able to register online for classroom seminars if you prefer that setting. There are three main functions on EOL:
- Foremost product online courses for CE credit
- Foremost product online courses taken for self-study without CE credit
- Registration for classroom seminars
Q: Once I'm registered do you send me materials?
A: For all online product courses everything you'll need to register and complete an online course is available to you on the EOL site.

For classroom seminars your instructor may hand out course materials during the seminar, and will distribute completion certificates at the end of the course.
Q: Do I use an existing user ID and password?
A: No. When you first logon to EOL you must choose a unique user ID and password. Please write down your user ID and password and keep it in a secure location. If you forget your password, click on the Forgot Your Password? link and your password will be emailed to the address on file. If you forget your user ID, call 1-800-237-6136, prompt 5, option 3.
Q: Do the courses have state-approval?
A: Yes, in most. In Wisconsin self-study courses are prohibited unless they relate to a national designation. Courses are not filed in Hawaii. See the EOL site for state-specific information or for courses that are pending approval in select states.
Q: Who's in charge of reviewing courses and notifying the state of course completion?
A: Foremost reports to the state where required when an individual completes a course and issues a certificate of completion. In some states the individual is responsible to report CE credits. In that case our obligation is to issue the certificate of completion. Please review the CE reporting rules for your state's Department of Insurance.
Q: Can agent payment for CE be taken out of my commission?
A: Payment cannot be taken out of Agent Statement or folio.

Q: Is there a limit to how many CE credits I can get?
A: No, but you must take different courses to satisfy your individual CE requirements. For example, if state B requires 20 hours of CE credit, you may take five courses at four hours a piece to reach 20, but each course must be a uniquely filed course in the state. Consult the state map on EOL to find out the requirements for your state.
Q: What is the charge per person for classes?
A: For online courses taken for CE credit - $25 per course
For online courses taken without CE credit FREE!
For classroom seminars consult the schedule on EOL for a price list
Q: What if I have a dual license?
A: If this situation applies to you, call your state's Department of Insurance for details.

Q: What is your cancellation policy for both online and classroom courses?
A: For online courses there is no refund for online courses once started
For classroom seminars - you have 15 business days to cancel prior to the course to receive a refund. You'll receive a refund if Foremost cancels the course. You'll be notified via email if a classroom course is cancelled.
Q: Can I take both online and classroom courses?
A: You may mix and match both types of courses to satisfy your CE requirements or take all online or all classroom courses.
Q: Can I pay online when I register?
A: Initially you'll send a check for both classroom seminars and online CE courses. You'll fill out either the classroom seminar or the online CE credit course payment form and send it with your payment to the address indicated. When online payment is available, we'll post information on the site for the online payment process.
Q: Will there be a summary of the credits I've taken online?
A: All of the Foremost courses will be tracked for you on EOL and available to view when you login. Each course will be assigned a unique number.

Q: Which producer code do I use when signing up? My Farmers or Foremost code?
A: You must use your nine-digit Foremost code when using EOL.
Q: How close can you take a course to the expiration date of your compliance period?
A: We recommend you take the needed CE courses for your compliance period 45 60 days before the expiration date to ensure prompt reporting to the state. Foremost and TIP Interactive, EOL's vendor partner, are not responsible for your failure to take courses within your compliance period or transmission problems resulting in late reporting to the state. Given the high volume of CE credit completion requests, we cannot accommodate special requests for last minute processing .
No CE credits will be issued until Foremost receives the Affidavit of Exam completion.
Q: What states require a monitor?
A: Exams taken for CE credit in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming must be monitored by a disinterested third-party, a licensed agent or a supervisor/manager. South Carolina and New York require a state-approved monitor. A list of South Carolina and New York approved monitors is available on each state's Department of Insurance Web site. No CE credits will be issued until Foremost receives the Affidavit of Exam completion.
Q: What if I lose my certificate of completion?
A: Foremost will provide one duplicate and/or replace a lost or destroyed certificate of completion free of charge. It will be mailed to the physical address of record for the person who passed the exam. To request a duplicate copy, call 1-800-237-6136, prompt 5, option 1.
Q: Do I have to maintain copies of my course completion certificates?
A: Licensees must maintain their own file of original proofs of course completions.

A: In the 4-6 weeks following the launch, EOL will offer both Specialty Dwelling and Marine course.
EOL will also offer Auto, Home, Motorcycle, Off-Road Vehicle product courses and an Ethics course in the future.
Q: Are you planning on phasing out classroom seminars?
A: No. Offering both online and classroom seminars satisfies many learning styles. We can reach a broader audience by offering online courses. We plan on offering both types of classes in the future.
Q: Will agents still receive a paper invitation to classroom seminars?
A: Yes, you will still receive paper invitations when classroom seminars are available in your area.
Q: Can you bill me for a classroom seminar if I show up without signing up for it?
